The series of collages extend Brass Art’s interest in embodiment, metamorphosis, and sculptural thinking by cutting and reconfiguring documentation of previous artwork and research imagery derived from geological forms, found materials, alchemical illustrations, and Hogarth etchings. Combining these layers with stills taken from shadow performances and personal body scanning, a deliberately illusory relationship is drawn between the original and the copy; the ‘poor’ image and the final form as archival giclée print.
