3D printed hand, coloured glass, LED 26cm x 16cm x 6cm
Brass Art sought the specialist assistance for an unusual application of hot glass: using their hand casts as moulds, they tested the possibilities for pushing the molten, coloured glass into the arrested gestures to create a sense of touch. The resulting object, named after Kircher’s depiction of the sun’s surface, appears to contain swirling red glass in a state of flux; lively and still warm with vital breath, clasped in the palm of a hand.
